Our Founder
Dr. Wold Zemedkun grew up in rural Ethiopia without access to clean water. After losing two brothers from problems related to unsafe water, he knew that he had to make a change. In 2009, he told his children that he had saved $10,000 to dig a well in his home village—and thus, Tesfa International was born. Dr. Zemedkun’s work began in his village and has spread to communities in need throughout the country.
TESFA (Hope) International was founded and family-funded in 2012. Water wells were dug to supply 2,680 people in rural Ethiopia. People also heard about the love of God.
